Hi all! Lately, I’ve been trying to find skincare products that are gentle on the skin and don’t include as many harsh ingredients for sensitive skin. It’s actually been quite simple to find these types of products, except for I’m always tempted to buy the ones with a nice fragrance to them, even though fragrance can be one of the reasons for an allergy. So, I’ve recently mixed in a few unscented beauty products in my body skincare routine just to try more of them out. If you’re like me, you tend to prefer products that have a nice scent to them, as it’s one of the major sell factors for me since I’ll be smelling it every time it’s applied. But, sometimes it’s better to go for something unscented for sensitive skin as dermatologists recommend choosing more products without added fragrance.
Here’s all the beauty products I’ve been using on my skin this winter season so far. I would definitely recommend all of them, as I’ve really enjoyed my skincare routine more than ever lately! I don’t find myself itchy or scratching like I used to every once in awhile. There’s something nice about finding skincare products that just work for you. I know a few beauty items will be swapped here and there when they run out, but as of right now I really like everything. Except, I’m not as hyped about coconut oil used alone anymore. I do love having it in my lotion, but not used alone as my body moisturizer since it’s just too greasy. Hope you enjoy my short review of all the products I’m currently using and loving!
I used to never use body wash like EVER. Not because I didn’t want to, but just because I never really saw the point as I stuck to my handy dandy Ivory soap bars. But boy was I missing out. Ok, once again my love for body wash is mainly due to the wonderful scents I’ve found some in, but I also enjoy the consistency. It’s a little bit easier to dispense a liquid and scrub it all around your body than it is to use a bar of soap. I don’t know about you, but I’m a clutz sometimes and end up dropping the soap in the shower, then having to pick it up and getting hair product in my eyes at times. That’s such a minor detail and quite funny now that I think of it! Ha! So, the two body washes I absolutely favor are the Body Wash in Lemon Sugar by Raw Sugar and the Shampoo + Body Wash — Honest Company.
I’ve mentioned the Honest Company body wash a few times as I can’t see why not?! It’s just that good! I also found a 2 pack of it at Costco, as I’ve noticed it’s on the pricier side at the drugstore. The fragrance is incredible and subtle, as it gently cleans your skin. It’s even been safe enough to use on my face and removes makeup! Love anything that can take off my makeup at the end of the day, since it sometimes can be a struggle. The Raw Sugar body wash obviously smells of lemons, which isn’t usually what I’d choose since they kindly sent me it, but I’ve really enjoyed it. I just love Raw Sugar as a brand and what they stand for. All the other products I received were just amazing! You can find the brand at Target too, which is convenient!
Let me briefly mention the hand soap I use, as it’s just that good! And it happens to be from Raw Sugar again. I also was given this from the brand, but I bought a new one once I ran out as I enjoyed the scent so much. This is my favorite scent from the brand in raw coconut and mango. It’s the perfect combination to me!
As for body lotion, I picked up a new brand I’ve never tried before, called Everyone. It’s their 3-1 unscented lotion for hands, face, and body! This is one of the best beauty products for a minimalist, as it has more than one purpose. As of now, I’m only using it on my body and hands, but soon I’ll be trying it out on my face when I run out of my usual face moisturizer for night. I say at night because I usually use a sunscreen face lotion in the daytime and don’t see myself using this in the daytime as it has no SPF. This is a great lotion to the traditional ones that usually contain mineral oil or paraffin wax, which I’d rather just not use. Not that they are really harmful, but mineral oil can be noncomedogenic.
Another product happens to be in the grocery isle, which is coconut oil. I wanted to try it out after hearing all the hype around how it can be used in multiple ways in your beauty routine. At first, I adored it and applied it generously as a body lotion, but now I find myself reaching for the Everyone lotion instead, as the coconut oil is too greasy and takes awhile to sink in. I have the coconut oil from LouAna (found at Walmart). Once I’m out of it, I don’t think I’ll be purchasing it again, but instead I’ll use a product that just contains coconut oil with other moisturizing ingredients.
This is a random beauty item found in my purse often, but it’s a must for the winter as my hands tend to be drier than usual. It’s the AAA Lavender + Chamomile hand lotion. I actually received it as a gift from my mom, so I’m not exactly sure where to get it online. I think it’s very hydrating as it’s more of a cream, has a decent smell, and love that it contains chamomile a gentle ingredient, but it does have a longer list of ingredients. I guess I wouldn’t really recommend this that much, since I don’t see myself buying it. I did want to mention it as I think it’s nice having a hand lotion in your bag to always have.
