I always seem to get excited when a new package from IPSY arrives! You might wonder why especially since it’s just beauty samples. Nope, they aren’t just beauty samples, they are samples from different makeup brands that some I haven’t used or heard from yet and there’s plenty to use. I tend to like to mix up my beauty routine a little with new products every now and again and IPSY helps me do so. So, which products am I most excited to use? Usually, I don’t jump around for face masks just because I don’t spend a lot of time on pampering my skin routine up I guess you’d say. I like using face washes that only take a few minutes, but I will try the scrubs and mask since my skin could use some cleansing. I tend to break out a bit every other week or so. I’m most excited to try the Foundation Primer from Smashbox since I’ve seen them in Sephora about every time I walk in and am curious if they are any good. I will do a review in a few weeks on these products after I’ve sampled them. I also quite like lip stains and eyeshadow crayons since they tend to be easiest to use and last long.
Hydrating Lip Stain- J. Cat Beauty 15 Bead
Cucumber Facial Mask- Befine
Microdermabrasion Scrub- derma e
Mini Shadow Crayon- treStique in color Marimoto Pink Pearl
Photo Finish Foundation Primer- Smashbox
NARS lip pencil- velvet matte in color Cruella
satin lip in color Rikugien
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo- Light Brown
Yes, it’s my birthday month and I am glad to celebrate! I had to head to Sephora to get my free birthday gift and purchase a new brow powder since I changed my hair color. I had only heard good things about the Anastasia brow makeup and so I thought I’d give it a try. The free gift was a few Nars lip pencils, which I also have always wanted to try but couldn’t ever decide a color and have so many lip makeup already. I find the red color to be very dramatic and perfect for a winged liner look. The pinkish hue helps enhance my natural lip color and I will definitely be wearing this most often. Now to the eyebrow powder, I absolutely love it! The lighter shade goes closest to the nose and out to the middle, while the arch is darkened with the darker brown color. This creates a more subtle brow and matches with my golden brown hair. Perfect:)
Absolute Love- Strawberry
Absolute Love- Bubble Gum
Absolute You’re The Balm- Green Apple
Can you tell which lip balm I love the most? The green apple is my all time favorite lip balm I’ve ever had in my whole life! That’s not even exaggerating. When I first received this in one of my ipsy bags for the month, I was like, “oh no, I have to use my fingers to put this on… I don’t want this.” But, sure enough I tried it out and loved it. Why? It’s the softest lip balm I’ve ever used and is a glossy look without much color. I like this because I can pop it over a lipstick color or wear it on its own. I wanted to find more and soon enough found some others, the absolute love ones. I have to admit my favorite is still the green apple, but these are also super smooth on the lips and add more color to them as well. I would definitely recommend these out of the kindness of my heart. Haha! I rate these a 10 out of 10! They are inexpensive and worth the buy to keep your lips looking lovely.
sweet mint, summer fruit, Rachel Roy Wildberry
These chapsticks or lip balms have been very popular lately and I continue to see them everywhere. From one of Miley Cyrus’s music videos to people at the supermarket or friends, these have made a hit. Now, I wanted to try them out myself and the first one I got was a gift from a friend. I wasn’t in love with the smell of the summer fruit, but it was definitely a convenient item to have within my purse. Then, I heard from my sister that the sweet mint was her favorite, after she had given me the wildberry. I went out and bought the mint one and pretty much fell in love. I would say my favorite one so far is the sweet mint one because it smells amazing and if you forgot your gum you can just pop this on your lips and you need not worry. It tastes quite nice too. I wouldn’t say they should be a massive favorite for everyone, but they are a bit better than any other chapstick I’ve ever used because they keep my lips hydrated the longest. They also have fun packaging with the roundness and colors and flavors of all of them. So, I would say go ahead and give them a try! You might like them as well:) I would rate these an 8 out of 10.
St. Tropez- Instant Glow Body Lotion
I would definitely use this product for golden glowing skin. I first like to mix it in with my every day lotion so that it goes on light at first, then I try and be more daring and use it alone. It blends into skin quite easily and doesn’t have a strong smell that overpowers your body. I would buy this if I wanted a tan without the sunshine.
it Cosmetics- CC+ Color correcting full coverage cream + anti-aging hydrating serum
Unfortunately, I did not use this product since the color was too dark. I planned on using this when my face got more sun, but that’ll be awhile. So, I had my mom try it who has a bit of a tanner face than mine and it completely blended and I couldn’t even tell she was wearing it. Flawless! She liked it because it did not appear too thick and heavy but was a more natural look.
Urban Decay- Revolution high-color lipgloss in colors Failbait and Bittersweet
I have yet to try the purplish color because it is quite daring for me, but I liked the pink shade. The only thing is, I’m not a big fan of lipgloss because it tends to be too sticky. I wouldn’t buy the glosses but I do like the Urban Decay as a brand.
Urban Decay- 24/7 Glide-on lip pencil in color Ozone
Yes! A lip liner primer that is clear! Who wouldn’t want this in their makeup bag? It can be worn with any lipstick of your choice. I like this for sure.
Briogeo- Rosaro Milk- reparative leave-in conditioning spray
I’m not an expert at hair products so with this one I tried using it everyday to see if there was a difference. But, the result was so subtle that I haven’t noticed anything. I hope that it is preventing damage to my hair because I spray it on before I blow dry my hair, but I am not quite sure. I would definitely look up reviews on this one to know whether or not it is a good buy. The smell is quite nice as it has some natural ingredients in it.
Bellapierre Cosmetics- Gel Eye Liner in Ebony
I admit I havent used this one yet because I prefer using a dark brown liner most of the time. I also like using gel liners because they tend to last longer.
I realize I’m a bit late on this video… but I just finished editing it! Yep, I’m giving YouTube a go! I would love it if you’d check it out and let me know what you think. I give you a scoop on what I got in my Ipsy bag recently and if I like the products or not:) Thanks xoxo
HEY GUYS! Here’s a short video I did about a few products I bought at Target to try out:) Feel free and watch a few minutes! Have a great day:)xoxo
They’re Real! by Benefit
A few months ago, I got a free sample of the They’re Real! mascara for my birthday from the wonderful store Sephora! I didn’t know what to expect other than knowing Benefit was a really good brand and had excellent packaging skills(since they package everything so cute and creative)! Once I opened up the mascara I could tell by the wand that it was going to do its job. And sure enough, it did! It coats every eyelash and opens up your eyes:) I definitely recommend this one!
Voluminous by Loreal
Now, this mascara is different than others for me in the best way! I have long eyelashes, but need a bit more thickness added to them to make them appear fuller… and this mascara creates exactly that! It really thickens up your eyelashes while extending them out:) I get this in the color black/brown for a more natural and subtle look!
Voluminous Million Lashes by Loreal
Voluminous Million Lashes does almost the same exact job as the They’re Real! by Benefit, but it is more inexpensive since you can find it at the drugstore. The wand is designed almost the same as well to define every eyelash! I have mine in black so that on the days I want my eyes to stand out the most, this will do the trick! This mascara is also the easiest for my eyelashes to curl, since mine refuse to almost every day. I don’t even use an eyelash curler cuz it never did worked for me. Instead, I use my hands to curl them by gently pushing them upward and holding it for about ten seconds each:)
