Guys, welcome back and hello to those who are new:) Hope you find help in my makeup review of Ipsy’s February beauty bag. If you don’t know what Ipsy is… here’s a little breakdown. Ipsy was created by Michelle Phan (Youtube beauty guru), who is one of my inspirations when it comes to everything beauty. Ipsy is a makeup bag subscription service that provides a new makeup bag full of five samples a month to try out from new brands, popular brands, and natural products for only 10 bucks a month. I find that the subscription has helped me to improve my makeup collection by providing me with new products I can sample and enjoy! So, I’ve tried the February samples and wanted to give you my best opinion to those who are looking for new makeup to try, but don’t want to risk everything without knowing anything about the products. Also, I wasn’t told to say these things and this is my own opinion. I just wanted to share with you guys one of my favorite things I look forward to each month:)
I’m very convinced that this is my new nail polish brand and I don’t want any other brand again. Why? It’s eco-friendly and works just as good as OPI and other brands that I have tried. I love that! It is also inexpensive for the budget we girls are on while going to school or saving for a vacation. It’s nice not paying lots for a better alternative to other nail polishes that may not be as eco-friendly.
I’ve been using this blush every single day ever since I got it. I know that’s a bit much, but I always try to give the best accurate review. This is now in my basic makeup routine since I prefer to wear makeup that enhances my beauty instead of hiding my face with a thick layer of glop. This shade works well with my skintone and gives me a natural looking flush with a bit of coral for a spring, summertime glow.
I’m so happy to have received a new eyeshadow shade, especially since it is a color that I will constantly use. If I’m in the mood to wear eyeshadow (I wear it more than eyeliner), then I can apply this all over my eyelids and wear a nude lip color to keep it simple. I would also wear it with a berry lip and eyeliner for a night out or if I want to look more polished.
I’ve heard good things about Smashbox products, but to be honest I haven’t really had any and only sampled things here and there. I did receive a different primer from Ipsy that I quite liked since it did it’s job and kept my makeup in place. This one is a bit different since it contains some essential oils that are healthy for moisturizing the skin, while creating a good surface for your makeup. I’ve used this as the instructions told me to, day and night, but haven’t fell head over heels for it. It might be nourishing my skin, but it isn’t the most apparant. I do enjoy the thought of that though, and it does keep my makeup on all day! So, if you’re looking for a primer that is also a moisturizer, I’d say give this one a go! Otherwise, stick to a primer that lasts long and is oil free for the oily skin types (me included).
Wow! This scrub is exactly what I wanted! No joke, I was on the lookout for an exfoliator to scrub deep into my pores without causing lots of redness and pain. This one is just that. It’s a daily exfoliator that leaves your face feeling minty since it includes peppermint and aloe vera. I love aloe vera when it comes to using it on my skin to prevent dryness and redness. There are tiny beads within the formula that aren’t too gritty and it smells lovely as well as having natural ingredients. Who really wants to use so many chemicals on their face anyways? Yuck! So this product is a definite yes! Yes to trying it yourself:)
