Hi guys! I’ve rummaged through my foundations over the last year to give you a review on each that I like! Looking for a new foundation? You came to the right place. Let’s get started…
foundation for oily prone skin types
I’ve collected a few of my beauty products that I’ve used up from last year that I quite liked and wanted to let you guys know about. If you’re like me, you’ve got more oily prone skin and need a foundation that is oil free or stays matte for most of the day. I’m not into the “glowy” look because of my skin type. If I attempted it, my makeup would probably end up off my face after a few hours. So, I’ve collected a few foundations I have used to tell you which one I recommend the most and which ones work better on other skin tones depending on each foundation. Here we go!
My favorite and most long-lasting foundation that I’ve ever used and have heard other beauty blogger/youtubers rave about is the Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation. This foundation contains a primer and can be used as both a concealer and foundation. Talk about easy! Love it! The consistency is medium and blends easily. This is my go-to foundation for school, work, or a long day ahead because I know it’ll last for most of the day.
The next one I quite liked was the Rimmel Stay Matte. This is a thicker consistency and takes a little longer to blend but has a medium coverage. I found that this one stayed on almost as long as the covergirl foundation. I do like this one, but the formula is a bit too thick to be wearing on a day to day basis.
The Rimmel Wake me up foundation smelled lovely and fresh and applied easily with a light to medium coverage. I think that the shades brighten up your face in the morning because of the more yellowish hues to them to create a flawless looking tan. This foundation would work best on normal to combination skin because my face tended to get more oily later on in the day. I absolutely love it besides that!
I used to have the original Fit Me foundation and was glad to see that Maybelline came out with a Matte version. I find that it applies very easily and is a light foundation formula, but wasn’t as matte as I wanted it to be. It doesn’t stay on all day and I think part of the reason why is because the formula isn’t matte enough. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a light coverage though and who doesn’t like the cakey feeling on your face.
BB Creams! Which one did I like the most? Definitely the Maybelline one since it included a bit of salicylic acid to help prevent breakouts. I like to sometimes have this within my foundation so that it can prevent breakouts from forming since foundation can cause them at times due to covering pores up. BB Creams are for those who want an extra light coverage on the face, but still want coverage to even out the skintone. It was nice knowing the BB Cream from Rimmel did nine different things by being a primer, etc. but it was just like any othe BB Cream. It did it’s job, but didn’t impress me especially since the shade was a bit darker than I’d imagined it to be for my skintone.
