Hello all! I’ve been generously sent a few phone cases from Habitu to try out and review for you guys! I had little to no expectations from them since I had not yet heard of the brand, Habitu. But, let me assure you that I was quite astonished when I received the package in the mail as it was beautifully organized with cute packaging! Let me tell you guys real quick a bit about Habitu’s philosophy.
Habitu believes in creating the most useful, yet stylish phone cases to fit your ‘habitus’. They define this on their website as ” we come into this world as a blank slate. We become culturally developed in our habits, tastes, and dispositions. We are the physical embodiments of our experiences.”– quoted from Habitu. So therefore, their designs are meant to not only be functional by protecting your phone case, but also be modern and suit your personal taste or style.
I love what they stand for! It’s quite fun when a brand holds such inspiring ideas and philosophies. So, as I browsed their site, I came across many darling phone cases and quite frankly wanted them all. Ok, ok, of course I wouldn’t need them due to the fact that I only have one phone and I try to only have one or two phone cases at a time to switch back and forth from, but there were loads of super cute ones that I could totally see myself using.
I used the black marble phone case for a few days and here’s my quick review of it. I liked it, but I didn’t looove it. Why? Well you see, I bought one of the most functional phone cases about six months back because it protects my phone. It didn’t come with any girly details or artistic ones, besides the functional design that I find artistic in itself. I have found that this one works best for me. Although, from time to time it’s nice trying out a new phone case like these ones. But, I can’t find myself sticking with any of them and go back to my previous one that keeps my phone the safest. You see, when I had the black marble one on, I was extra cautious as I couldn’t seem to trust that this slim phone case could take any impact at all if it were to drop as it’s just too thin. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful, simple design, but just not protecting enough of my phone (I’m quite clumsy and drop my phone more than most people I’m sure. Ha!).
So, after trying it out for a while, I decided to maybe use it off and on if I want to change things up a bit with my blander phone case, but as of now I’ll be keeping my older one. Also, I sadly noticed how the sticker part where the design is, was starting to come off already. This could be a rare case, but it was peeling off a little near the camera part. I can easily glue it back together, but instead I just ripped a part off of it. Whoops! Doesn’t necessarily mean I won’t ever use it, just means it may not be worth the forty dollar price tag if you’re looking for a phone case solely to protect your phone. Otherwise, if you’re simply looking for a sleek, minimal, modern phone case for aesthetic purposes, Habitu has some great ones! Enough choices to pick through, but not too much that you’re overwhelmed. Haha!
