Hi all! I was kindly sent this hair oil from Influenster to try out and review. I actually quite enjoy doing reviews for you guys as well, so I hope you find my reviews of beauty items helpful! Especially since there are loads of different products out there to choose from. I find it helps me to know whether a product is worth trying or not based on customers, blogger’s or YouTuber’s reviews. It’s worth finding out online for the convenience!
I’ve been using this product off and on for a few weeks to see if the claims about the product are somewhat true. I definitely want a multi-purpose hair oil for my hair care routine, but am not sure it’s going to be this one that’s staying. A hair product with versatile use is a must for me, especially since I’m not a fan of doing my hair. So any product that’ll make my hair softer, more manageable, healthier, and easy to style will make life easier for me! This one came close to cutting it, but just not quite and there are a few reasons why this product isn’t the ideal one for me, but it could be for you!
To me, L’Oreal is a pretty decent brand when shopping for beauty products at the drugstore. There are hits and misses with most brands, whether from the drugstore or not. So, with my first few uses of the hair oil from L’Oreal I continued to notice the not so awesome fragrance. It could be due to the sunflower oil, as I have a few products with this amazing ingredient, but the scent can be rather musky in a way. It’s difficult to explain scent, but just know that the smell of this product isn’t one I favor. My boyfriend even mentioned that he thought I smelled a bit funny a few times when I had used this on my hair and I hadn’t previously told him I was using this. Once I figured out he was referring to the hair oil and not my usual hair care, I knew I wasn’t the only one who didn’t prefer this scent.
The fragrance isn’t the only reason to why I don’t really prefer this hair oil. It’s odd how the smell of a product can deter you from purchasing a product, as it seems like such a minuscule detail. Yet, if the scent is a little strong then it’s understandable to want to steer away from it. The packaging itself also isn’t that great at dispensing the product. The cap works, but it could be way better as the serum just seems to glop right out when squirting.
I think I’ll use this occasionally anyways, unless I can find a place to donate it and not let it go to waste. I definitely need to mention that I find it works quite good! I’m not blown away by the results, but I find it does soften my hair. I love being able to use it on my hair whenever needed, such as when I have fly-aways, dry ends, or need a little more hydrating after blow drying my hair. It’s such a great way to keep your hair healthy, especially during the winter. I just would prefer using a hair oil that has no fragrance or a light scent to it so that I don’t drive away people by the smell. Haha!
Overall, this hair serum is a great drugstore find that is multi purpose! I wouldn’t put it on my beauty favorites list, but it’s a good one. I’ll be on the lookout for a hair serum that is all-in-one for healthier, more hydrated hair.
